Would you shop at a new Wal-Mart Supercenter in Leavenworth?
Asked at Lansing Post Office on March 6, 2008
“Yeah, because it would offer a better grocery store than we have around here.”
“Yeah, I would. I think we need to keep trying to improve the city. I know people aren’t happy about it … The thing I’m not happy about is the vacant stores.”
“Yeah, if the parking’s better. I don’t go to Wal-Mart any more than I have to, but, yes, I go.”
“Yes, because I live here, and it’s close. They’ve been promising one for so long, it would be nice if we finally got it.”

A new WalMart supercenter sounds nice, but what about the building it will leave vacant? What about the mess traffic will be even with a light put on that intersection? Let's not forget all those vacant buildings they just built on Eisenhower infront of the doctor's building? AND by the LCF?? Our town does need some improvements and this could be a step however I think many factors still need to be considered.

I don't think it is such a good idea. 10th Street was created for nieghborhoods, not big businesses! Two thumbs down!

I think it would be GREAT! to have not just wally world, but i would like to see more things happen here in lansing and leavenworth, like fast food places and more shopping, and tax free! on the days that schools get ready to start.. in case you didn't notice people who live in kansas have to drive miles just to go do some back to school shopping when tax free is in… and i think it would be great to see that happen here… and if you bring in a walmart it would put Dillons out and that is something i would like to see cause Dillons doesn't have all that much to offer if you ask me…
