A mother’s gratitude
July 19, 2007
To the editor:
I would like to thank all those friends and loved ones who took time out of their busy lives to put together the 2nd Annual Sean Ryan Memorial Flag Football Tournament.
My son Sean was 20 when he was killed in a car accident in April of 2006. I guess I didn’t know just how much our friends missed Sean.
Kyle and Blake Deere created this tournament as a tribute to a sport that Sean loved and played with great pride. Along with Debbie, Riann and Taylor, they have organized, recruited and established a great tribute to my son. Through his tournament, all those who knew him and all those who understand the importance of the scholarship are able to come together as friends and enjoy time honoring Sean.
I would also like to thank all those friends who donated, whether through time or monetary contributions.
For those of you who knew Sean, this event keeps his memory alive and happy. For those of you who know me, there are no words I can write to tell you how grateful I am that you loved him too.
