Exhibit to open at Carnegie

April 25, 2008

— The Carnegie Arts Center will play host to local artist and resident Tricia Black in a one-person show at the Stacks Gallery in May.

Opening reception is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday May 9.

Miss Black, who has worked at the Carnegie, has a unique way of looking at the world. She always appears to be in the middle of changing, either career choices or "gaudy impractical shoes," so her subjects - she feels - reflect humorous themes. Tricia was born in North Carolina, the youngest of four children, was raised in Leavenworth but spent some of her childhood overseas. By her own description, Tricia likes:"coffee, reading, FOOD, vulgar music, gaudy impractical shoes, and painting."

The show will remain in the Gallery until May 31 with visiting hours during regular business hours; 9 a.m -5 p.m. daily and 9 a.m. -2 p.m. Saturdays.
