Lansing plans spring clean-up

Lansing residents can take advantage of the free spring clean-up at the Leavenworth County Transfer Station, east on Gilman Road, on Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5.
Items can be dropped at the transfer station from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. free of charge with a valid driver's license.
Items that will be accepted include: standard waste, residential tire disposal, household hazardous materials such as paint, anti-freeze, pesticides and household cleaning products, yard waste of grass and leaves, tree and brush, white goods including appliances and any metal items, residential recycling and construction and demolition waste.
On Saturday only, computer and electronics can be disposed of from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Any computer equipment or electronic item is allowed providing it does not contain any hazardous chemicals such as refrigerants.
Those wishing to dispose of burn barrels must place all barrel residue in plastic bags and water down the contents and then place them in a cardboard box.
