Lansing’s annual Autumn in the Grove festival once again will be kicked off with the Lions Club all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast.

The breakfast will be at the Community Center on Saturday morning, Oct. 11, rain or shine, with the doors opening promptly at 7:30 a.m. Chris Cakes again will provide all the pancakes and sausage you can eat for $6; breakfast will also feature orange juice, coffee and tea.

This fundraising event will run until 11 a.m., so even the sleepy heads will have time to join in on the fun.

Proceeds will be used in the community by the Lansing Lions to support their many charitable activities which include blindness prevention efforts, scholarships for Lansing graduatess and several free community events throughout the year, such as the annual Easter Egg Hunt.

Lansing’s third annual “Autumn in the Grove” fall festival takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in Kelly Grove Park, at East Gilman Road and Kansas Highway 7, next to McIntyre Mann Carpet.

Visitors to the festival can enjoy the live music of the band Festhaus-Musikanten and the Lucky Charms band throughout the day. There will also be a variety of fall favorites: pumpkin decorating, children’s crafts, a farmer’s market, artisan demonstrations, story-telling, food and drink including apple dumplings, caramel apples, cider and much more.

Both the Lansing Historical Museum and the Lansing Community Library will be closed on Saturday, October 11th in support of this event.
