Services for J. Gayle (Hardwick) Whipple, age 72 of Basehor and previously of Lansing, were Saturday, Dec. 29, at First Baptist Church of Basehor. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Lansing.
Mrs. Whipple died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007.
She was born July 6, 1935, in Independence, Mo.
Mrs. Whipple retired after working 22 years as a teller at the Wyandotte Bank at 78th & State Avenue in Kansas City, Kan.
She was preceded in death by her second husband, Bill Cozadd.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Whipple, of the home; nine children, Karen Breuer and Tammy Hampton, both of Basehor, Cheryl Matzeder, Leavenworth, Kevin Hardwick, Piper, Kenny Hardwick Sr., Lansing, Malissa Haley, Pittsburg, Mo., Chuck Whipple, Bonner Springs, Martin Whipple, Olathe, and Gladys Zimmerman, Seattle; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church of Basehor or the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, sent in care of Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS 66012.
