Fifth-grader Garret Bohnen gets ready to let a rubber chicken fly in the Chicken Slingin' event at the Lansing Intermediate School Island Beach Party field day on Friday, May 6. Students used exercise equipment as a slingshot to fling rubber chickens as far as they could.

Lansing Intermediate School students marked their annual field day on Thursday, May 6, with a variety of games. The theme for the day was Island Beach Party. This year's format was new from previous years, which had only included track and field events.
