Mark Lyle, "The Human Vacuum," was one of three professional competitive eaters who competed in the World Championship Bar-B-Q Rib Eating Contest held at Daniel's Bar-B-Q. At first, Lyle decided not to waste time splitting the ribs apart, instead focusing on removing as much meat off the whole slab as possible.
"Gentleman" Joe Menchetti, of Wallingford, Conn., works on mess management while speeding his way through rib meat. Menchetti got his nickname from his grandmother, who approved of his "gentlemanly" cleanliness while eating.
