Four Lansing students earned a total of 12 medals in the Missouri Valley Swimming Championships, Feb. 22 - 24, in Lawrence. They are, front row, from left: Hannah Hecht, Matt Holden, Shyann Winkler, and back row, Kurt Weber. Weber, Lansing High sophomore, placed second in the 200-yard butterfly (2:20.42), third in the 200-yard individual medley (2:10.08), third in the 400-yard individual medley (4:39.90), fourth in the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.76), fourth in the 100-yard freestyle (53.74), fifth in the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.40) and sixth in the 50-yard freestyle (24.53). Hecht, LHS freshman, placed seventh in the 200-yard breaststroke (3:03.32). Winkler, Lansing Middle School eighth-grader, placed first in the 50-yard freestyle (27.58), sixth in the 100-yard freestyle (1:01.55) and eighth in the 200-yard backstroke (2:37.62). Holden, Lansing Elementary School student, placed seventh in the 100-yard backstroke (1:39.97).
