Too close to home June 16, 2005
Twenty-six-year-old Thomas Brooks, Leavenworth, is charged with DUI and other crimes for running his Dodge pickup truck into the home of Jim and Lynn Driscoll at 70 Holiday Drive. The incident occurred about 9 p.m. Friday as Lynn Driscoll was playing cards with her grandchildren inside the home.
Two-by-fours, above, brace the corner of the garage at 705 Holiday Drive, the home of James and Lynn Driscoll. Authorities have charged a Leavenworth man, Thomas Brooks, 26, with ramming the house with his pickup while driving under the influence. The incident occurred Friday night.
The concrete stoop outside the front door prevented the pickup from crashing into the Driscolls' living room, shown here. One of the Driscolls' grandchildren was on the pictured sofa when the crash occurred.
